The Face: Margaux Hemingway
Those curious dimples and luscious lips make Margaux Hemingway so undeniably captivating when she smiles; she's the youthful spirit of the 1970's embodied. Those unassuming freckles peppered across her cheeks hinting at languorous, happy summers with her family in Cuba make her one of our ultimate sun-chasing dream girls and with good reason. Statuesque at 6 feet tall, the American beauty was coined "the face of a generation" and was the first model ever to be awarded a $1 million contract for a beauty campaign.
A muse to Helmut Newton, she was also a regular on the Hollywood scene drawing long Californian summer days into even longer summer nights with a kind of brazenly free spiritedness that was the mood du jour in that era. Adding to her notoriety as the Granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway, Margaux quickly forged her own fame in the fashion world by covering the likes of Elle, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Time magazines.
When it came to beauty, Margaux sought to accentuate and reveal, not conceal. She alternated between two dominant beauty looks for most of her career: one where a coral red lip was off-set with dramatic bronzed contouring and another gentler, more subdued off-duty look that worked with dewy, tanned skin and brows that were combed upward and shaped.
To get a modern version of Margaux's high fashion coral lip, apply our luminous LB Cream over your entire face, building up coverage where you need it. Then, using a kabuki brush, work the Velvet Bronzing Makeup Base just under the cheekbones to create dimension on the face, beginning near the ear and stopping in line with your pupil. (You can watch exactly how to contour here). Then, take a large eyeshadow brush and work a small amount onto your eyelids, blending all the way to the brown bone. Finally, to really make this look pop, take our Lip-To-Cheek Tint in "Peach" and press it onto your lips and the apples of your cheeks.

To get Margaux's natural off-duty glow, apply a sheer layer of our luminous LB Cream over your entire face. Then, using your fingers, dab and blend the Bronze Skin Illuminator just under the cheekbones to create dimension on the face, beginning near the ear and stopping in line with your pupil. (You can watch exactly how to contour here). Highlight your cheekbones, the inner corners of your eyes and your cupids bow by strobing with our Shimmer Skin Illuminator (here's how to do that in under 5 minutes). Brush your brows up with a clear gel and voila! Perfect, radiant, natural looking skin, just like Margaux.
