Lara tells us exactly how she tans
1. DO EVERYTHING ELSE FIRST
"If you need to get a wax or a manicure, touch up your hair colour or shave your legs, do it all before applying self-tanner. All of those treatments can remove the colour."
2. PREP THE SKIN
"Self-tanner sinks into dry skin, leaving dark patches. I personally think an exfoliating glove or body scrub (the Frank Body scrubs, $17, are my favourite) is the best way to exfoliate your body before tanning. It may sound obvious but keeping your skin in good condition in-between tans also help your cause when it comes to a natural colour. I always exfoliate before I tan but I also exfoliate to take off my tan."
3. TAN LIKE A PRO
"When applying self-tanner, I start from the face and work down my body in stages, leaving my hands and feet until last. If tanning your face, my number one rule is to go easy. You can always build colour over time by applying a thin layer each day, or add intensity with bronzer."
