How To: illuminate specifically for your face shape.
It's no secret by now that we love a healthy glow. As far as we are concerned, plump, radiant skin is the most important part of any beauty look. After all, trends come and go, but putting your most vibrant and energised face forward is a timeless approach to makeup that we know suits you most of all. And while our entire cosmetics range is formulated to add radiance to your complexion, the hero really is our Skin Illuminator in "shimmer".
The Skin Illuminator in Shimmer is a good night's sleep in a tube. It contains luminous microparticles that reflect light (note: it glimmers without glitter), all the while hydrating and nourishing your skin. And while traditional highlighters are designed to be used on the high points of your face like the top of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the cupids bow for a subtle radiant glow, we've choreographed specific application techniques for every one of your unique face shapes. It'll give dimension to your face without the harsh angles that traditional contouring leaves you with and accentuate the features that make you, you. And if you want even more depth and complexity to the structure of your face, you can contour with the Skin Illuminator in "Bronze" - read how to, here.

Deemed the "ideal face shape" because of it's tendency to be symmetrical, the oval face shape is relatively simple to illuminate. Dab a small amount of the Skin Illuminator into the lower middle part of the forehead, in the under eye cavity to lift any dark shadows and awaken the face and the centre point of the chin.
Highlighting the round face shape is not too dissimilar to highlighting the oval face shape, with regards to the forehead and chin. However, pay special attention to the cheeks: be sure to only add the Skin Illuminator in Shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes and don't let it blend down onto the cheeks. This will add light to the eyes and keep them as the focal point.
Heart shaped faces are fortunate in that they have a lot of beautiful angles to work with. Adding highlighter to the lower central part of the forehead and high corners of the temples adds an overall radiance to the complexion, while dabbing a little Skin Illuminator in Shimmer on the outer edges of the cheekbones adds dimension and drama to the structure of the face. A small amount applied to the sides of the lower lip softens an angular chin, while a touch on the centre of the chin makes for a fuller looking pout.
Square shaped faces are classic in shape and don't require a lot of work when it comes to adding dimension and structure with contouring. A finer, vertical application of the Skin Illuminator in Shimmer on the lower middle part of the forehead and on the upper points of the temples softens a broad forehead, while subtly dabbing the Skin Illuminator in Shimmer in a softened line from the cheek bone along the outside of the face, tracing along the jawline and stopping before the chin relaxes any firm angles.
