Beauty Tip: trace your waterline
"The Base woman knows that the best beauty looks don't require a lot of products, just the right ones"
The secret to the best "no make-up, make-up" look is to keep it subtle. Especially when making your eyes pop (semi) naturally, it's all about picking one hero product and letting it speak for itself. That means giving your primers, shadows, concealers and mascara a mini-break and championing one intensely pigmented kohl eyeliner pencil.
Lining your upper waterline is the easiest way to make your eyes more defined and your lashes appear fuller and darker while still looking totally natural. Because there's no shimmery pigment on your eyelids or coats of product on your lashes, your make-up will be totally undetectable. It's about looking like yourself, only a little more polished.
All you need to line your upper waterline is a waterproof eyeliner pencil, a steady hand and a mirror. First, make sure your eyeliner pencil is really sharp. We like Chantecaille 24 Hour Waterproof Eyeliner and the NARS Pencil Sharpener. Then, draw gently back and forth on the top inside waterline of your eye, making sure to meet the lashes where they begin and end. Try not to extend the outer corners further than the organic growth pattern of your actual lashes - this will keep things looking as natural as possible. If your eyes water a little, dab away any smears with some Bioderma Crealine on a cotton pad. Once the liner sets, it will stay put all day.
This isn't about creating a dramatic flick or cat eye, it's about secretly enhancing your own eyelashes by making them look thicker, fuller, darker and more pronounced. Add a slick of LB Cream and dab on some Lip-To-Cheek Tint you'll be ready for work, a party or even the beach! And the best part? No one will even know you are wearing any make-up!
