How To: Summer Legs in Winter
Creating summer legs that glow in winter is very achievable! Here's how:
Step One: Prep
First things first, prep. It's always the easiest and best way to make sure you get an even glowing tan that is natural and easy to maintain. Exfoliate, paying attention to any areas that are particularly dry. During winter your skin will lack a little luster so use a dense scrub or we love using straight ground coffee. It's a good texture during winter and packed with antioxidants for the skin.
Step Two: Apply
Using an application mitt, apply a layer of Instant Tan Mousse. You can apply to your whole body or just pay attention to your legs. If you are only applying to your legs we recommend one coat so it's not overly obvious, otherwise build up the colour to a desired shade with multiple applications. You do have to go wait until the first coat is developed which can take between 4-24 hours and washed off before continuing to build.
Step Three: Hydrate and nourish
It's so important especially in winter that you moisturise and hydrate your skin, not only nourish it but to help make your tan last longer. We love the Josie Maran Body Butter for a dense winter cream, really smother yourself in it daily, a great time is when you get straight out of the shower.
Step Four: Amplify
Using the Bronzing Gel is a great way to add extra bronze and is also nice to apply to the rest of your body when you are exposing it, you may not need an all over tan in winter but when you do want to show some skin it's easy to make it glow in a very natural way.
We also like to use an illuminator in the centre of our limbs. Apply the cream in a line down the centre of your legs and arms, then blend outwards. This added illumination is subtle but extremely effective to bounce light and make you glow.
