Beauty Tip: Fresh faced make-up
Simple make-up tips for looking fresh and natural.
Moisturise!! Hydrating the skin well is the easiest way to look fresh and dewey. You can use a cream, hydrating mist or oils. It’s also so important to react to your skins needs, your moisturiser may need to be light or heavy depending on your skin type and often what season it is. Let the hydrating product absorb, tap two fingers gently over the face to make sure it feels even in terms of texture and that the product has properly absorbed.
Cover redness and any dark shadows using a light concealer that is creamy but not too heavy. Start to conceal around the edge of your nose and feather outwards under your eyes and tap lightly with your finger over the lids and both corners of your eyes. Then lightly cover any blemishes or redness with the same light concealer. If you feel like you need extra coverage use a BB cream (or in our case the LB cream).
Create strategic points of light reflection on the face with a highlighting or illuminating cream. Apply to the inner corners of the eyes, the bridge of the nose and high on the cheekbones. To create even more contrast on the face you can also use a light mineral powder, gently powder the nose and a little on the top of the forehead and jawline. Careful to miss the cheeks to allow the natural rose colour and dewiness to show through.
Curl your lashes before applying mascara with a small brush (preferably a fanned one) then using an upwards action apply up to 4-5 layers of mascara starting from the roots and flick upwards. This will allow you to build the colour intensity without the mascara caking or looking done.
Eye brows are the frame of the face and are should be lush and full. Use a soft pencil or powder to define and fill in the brows. Make sure you use a colour that is similar to your natural eyebrows and not your hair colour. Also play with a lighter colour to fill in and highlight the shorter or finer hairs then a darker colour more sparingly to define the shape of the brow. Using a spiral brush blend through the colour to make the brows look natural.
Tip: Brush the hairs from the start of the brow to the natural arch up and then the bottom brow across towards the hair line. Play with what looks good for you but the more you brush the better!
Use a matte or natural lip balm on the lips and even a small amount on the centre of the eye lids.
